American Express to Sponsor First Project We Remember Home for Veterans

Project We Remember received its most significant corporate donation to date on Nov. 17, 2007 as American Express became a corporate sponsor. The financial services giant donated $15,000 to the non-profit -- funds which will go toward sponsoring the first Project We Remember temporary home for sick and injured veterans at Partenza on Highland in Phoenix.

Project We Remember Executive Director Vernon Bagley, shown on left, was invited to the American Express campus in North Phoenix to receive the check on behalf of the organization. The check was presented by Douglas J. Tabish, business leader, American Express. Prior to his career with American Express, Doug served as an Army Ranger.

"We're thrilled to have American Express as our first corporate sponsor of what will soon be known as the American Express House," said Bagley. "With this donation the company has proven it is committed to the well being of the veterans who have given so much for our freedoms."
