PWR Announces Boots For Our Troops Program

Project We Remember is announcing the Boots For Our Troops Program, formed to provide a meaningful and convenient way for the people of Arizona and others to show their appreciation and support for the sacrifices of OUR Arizona military service personnel, their families and OUR veterans living in Arizona.

(L to R) Roman Ruiz, David Lucier, and Rich Bank are Vietnam Veterans who have vivid memories of what it was like to come home after their combat tours in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

Determined to help make a difference, they contacted Project “We Remember” and tossed around some ideas with Vernon Bagley, another Vietnam Veteran and founder of Project “We Remember”.

Common concerns began to emerge: there were known voids and gaps in the veterans “system”, our Arizona National Guard personnel were coming home after long, extended tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, homeless veterans were surfacing as a continuing problem, and families of active military personnel and families of veterans were being affected by veterans’ issues of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), not to mention the financial and emotional stresses of having a loved one serving in a hostile environment.
