Special Announcement

Great news from Project We Remember!  In just a few weeks we will be opening another “short term” housing solution for our Veterans.  This unit is being sponsored by The American Legion District 12 for a period of one year.  Our plans are to acquire a 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit across the street from the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Hospital which is located on 7th Street and Indian School, the complex is called the Empirian at Steele Park.  We expect to have the unit furnished and ready for the first occupant by October 15, 2008.

We are asking each of you to consider helping us to furnish this apartment so it will be a comfortable and restful place for our Veterans and their families beginning October 15.

We will need the following items:
Queen size bed, Pillows, Sheets, Blankets, etc.
Bathroom items: Towels, Hand Towels, Soap Tray/Dispenser, etc.
Kitchen Items:  Pots, Pans, Storage Containers, Place setting (4), Coffee Pot, Cups (4), etc.
Couch, Chair, Coffee Table, Television, Telephone
Wall Hangings for the Bedroom, Bath, Kitchen, and Living Room

If you have any of these items, that are in “like new” condition, please send an email to vbagley@projetweremember.org and we will make arrangements to pick them up or identify a drop off point for you.  If you do not have any of these items but want to help with a cash donation, you can donate to Project “We Remember” Family and in the comments section put "Apartment".

For all of the Veterans and their families who will use this facility in coming months, we wish to thank The American Legion District 12. Thanks to each post and each member of each post who have made this become a reality.

We Remember

Project We Remember is dedicated to helping those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. It is our primary purpose to raise funds for individuals and non-profit organizations that provide support to our military men and women when they and their families are in need beyond that which is provided by their respective service branch. We believe that we can provide a significant positive effect on the daily lives and the morale of our service personnel by demonstrating that we care both in words and in actions.

Project ‘We Remember’ Aids Military Veterans and Families
For many of Arizona’s sick and injured military veterans, medical care means extended stays at veteran’s hospitals. These stays are made more difficult by the fact that many of them live far from veteran’s facilities and cannot afford to have their families stay with them during their treatment.  Read More...
